Netflix Unveils New Trailer for Sci-Fi Epic ‘The Electric State’

Netflix has released an exciting new trailer for its highly anticipated sci-fi film, The Electric State. Starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt, the film transports viewers to a post-apocalyptic world torn apart by a war between humans and machines. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the minds behind Avengers: Endgame, the movie will debut on the streaming platform on March 14, 2025. Set in an alternate 1990s timeline, the story follows a resourceful teenager, played by Brown, as she embarks on a perilous journey with her robot companion to locate her missing younger brother.

Joining Brown on her mission is a mysterious wanderer, portrayed by Chris Pratt, who helps navigate the chaos left in the wake of a devastating rebellion between humans and robots. The film promises an emotional yet action-packed narrative, exploring themes of loss, connection, and resilience. The recently unveiled teaser gives viewers a glimpse into this haunting world, with Brown’s character poignantly narrating, “Right now, all of us have something in common. We all lost something after the rebellion. Robots lost their freedom. Humans lost connection with each other. And I lost everyone I loved — or so I thought.”

The Electric State boasts a stellar ensemble cast that includes Ke Huy Quan, Jason Alexander, Woody Norman, Giancarlo Esposito, and Stanley Tucci. In addition to the live-action performances, the film features voice work from an impressive roster of actors, such as Woody Harrelson, Anthony Mackie, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, Hank Azaria, Colman Domingo, and Alan Tudyk. This blend of live-action and voice performances underscores the film’s ambition to create a richly immersive world.

Adapted from Simon Stalenhag’s 2018 novel of the same name, The Electric State is written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, frequent collaborators of the Russo brothers. The directing duo is joined by producers Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot, Chris Castaldi, and Patrick Newall. With its compelling storyline, top-tier cast, and the creative team’s proven track record, The Electric State is poised to become one of Netflix’s most talked-about releases in 2025.
