The makers of Benz, starring Raghava Lawrence, have unveiled Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly as the antagonist in the highly anticipated film. A thrilling announcement video introduced Pauly’s character, Walter, showcasing him draped in gold jewellery, wielding a blood-dripping hammer, and sporting shiny gold teeth. The eerie setting, filled with mannequins in sarees, hints at a sinister persona, while another version of Pauly—casually dressed and eating—reveals details about Lawrence’s character. The video ends with Walter’s chilling line: “Beautiful heart, dirty mind… deadly combo… love you Walter.”
Benz is part of the expanding Lokesh Kanagaraj Cinematic Universe (LCU), joining hits like Kaithi, Vikram, and Leo. Though not directed by Lokesh this time, he remains closely involved as co-writer and co-producer under his banner, GSquad. Directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan of Remo fame, the film promises high-octane action with Raghava Lawrence in the lead and Samyuktha as the female protagonist. The technical team includes composer Sai Abhyankkar, cinematographer Gowtham George, and stunt choreographer Anl Arasu, ensuring a grand-scale production.
The film is set to be shot across major Indian cities and UAE locations over 120+ days, positioning it as one of 2025’s biggest commercial ventures. Meanwhile, Lokesh Kanagaraj is busy with Coolie, starring Rajinikanth, set for an August 2025 release. Nivin Pauly, on the other hand, has wrapped up Baby Girl and is also working on Dear Students with Nayanthara. With Benz marking his debut as a full-fledged villain in the LCU, fans are eager to see his menacing performance opposite Lawrence.
