Khalifa: The Ruler, the Prithviraj Sukumaran-led action entertainer, is set for its digital premiere on October 9, 2026. The film, which originally hit cinemas worldwide during the Onam weekend on August 20, 2026, is employing a massive multi-platform rollout strategy. The movie will be available in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi audios across multiple streaming platforms, with availability varying slightly by geographical region. This extensive release strategy ensures that audiences across India and overseas can experience the high-octane action drama from the comfort of their homes.
For viewers in India, the film will stream on Amazon Prime Video, ManoramaMAX, Lionsgate Play, and Aha. International audiences can access it through Simply South and STARZPLAY. This multi-platform approach reflects the makers’ intent to reach as wide an audience as possible, building on the film’s successful theatrical run. The movie crossed the ₹50 crore mark worldwide during its theatrical release, and the digital premiere is expected to further boost its viewership and popularity.
Directed by action filmmaker Vysakh, who reunites with Prithviraj 15 years after Pokkiri Raja, Khalifa: The Ruler features Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role as Aamir Ali, a carefree youth who escalates into the gold smuggling syndicate to protect his family. The film also marks the Malayalam debut of Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh, who stars alongside Malvika Sharma, Shammi Thilakan, Indrans, Tovino Thomas, and Soubin Shahir. Written by Jinu V. Abraham, the film has been praised for its action-packed presentation and mass moments, with Prithviraj’s performance emerging as one of its major attractions.
One of the biggest talking points surrounding Khalifa is the presence of Mohanlal, who appears in a pivotal extended cameo as Mambarakkal Ahmed Ali, also known as Baba. This cameo is intended as the first part of a two-part series, with the sequel planned to explore Mohanlal’s character in full. With its multi-platform release and star-studded cast, Khalifa: The Ruler is poised to become one of the most-watched Malayalam films on OTT this October. Fans who missed it in theatres now have the perfect opportunity to experience the action, drama, and star power from home.
