The much-anticipated film Kottayam Belt, directed by Jis Joy and starring Asif Ali in the lead role, was officially launched at a grand function held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Kochi. Sports Minister OJ Janeesh inaugurated the event, which was attended by numerous dignitaries from the film, social, and art fields, along with the cast, crew, and their families. The film is being produced by TR Shamsudeen and Venu Gopalakrishnan under the banners of Dream Catcher Productions and Kailash Productions. With its launch ceremony setting the tone, the film’s shooting is scheduled to begin on July 15 and will take place across Thodupuzha, Kochi, Kottayam, and Thrissur.
Kottayam Belt is presented as a compelling family thriller set against the backdrop of an eastern hilly village with a Christian background. The narrative revolves around the lives of four brothers, whose strength, meaning, and mental resilience make them formidable figures unable to be defended by anyone.
