Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, has entered its first weekday on a slower note after a solid opening weekend at the box office. The film, which had crossed the Rs 200 crore mark worldwide within four days of release, witnessed a sharp decline in collections on its first Monday. According to Sacnilk, the film collected an estimated Rs 10.15 crore net in India on Day 5, marking a significant 68.3% drop from Sunday’s Rs 32 crore net collection. Despite the dip, the film’s India net collection now stands at Rs 134.90 crore, with the India gross collection at Rs 157.74 crore.
The film’s worldwide gross collection has climbed to an estimated Rs 233.24 crore, driven by a strong overseas performance. On Monday, Jana Nayagan added Rs 4 crore gross internationally, pushing its overseas total to Rs 75.50 crore gross. The film was screened in 10,436 shows across the country on Monday, a decrease from Sunday’s 12,107 shows. The Tamil version contributed Rs 8.40 crore net, while the Hindi version earned Rs 1.20 crore net, and the Telugu version added Rs 55 lakhs, reflecting the film’s pan-Indian appeal.

Regionally, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together contributed Rs 65 lakhs, while Kerala added Rs 70 lakhs. The rest of India generated Rs 1.26 crore gross, taking the film’s Day 5 India gross to Rs 11.76 crore. The film’s performance in key markets highlights its strong hold in Tamil Nadu and its growing presence in Hindi-speaking regions, though the Monday dip is a typical trend for big-budget releases after an explosive weekend.
Despite the drop, Jana Nayagan remains a powerhouse at the box office, with its worldwide total crossing Rs 233 crore within five days of release. The film’s journey ahead will depend on its ability to sustain momentum through the week and into the second weekend. With positive word-of-mouth from fans and Vijay’s star power, Jana Nayagan is expected to continue its strong run, though its long-term performance will be closely watched by trade analysts. As Vijay bids farewell to cinema, the film’s box office numbers are a testament to his enduring legacy and unmatched fan following.
