The official character glimpse for Sai Pallavi’s highly anticipated role in the action-thriller OM – Chapter 1: Udhiram – The Blood Wood has been revealed, introducing her as Nithya Reddy, IPS—a fearless, highly intelligent, and commanding investigative officer. This project marks the very first time Sai Pallavi will wear a khaki police uniform on screen, and her character introduction showcases intense, fierce screen presence, high-level tactical operations, and sharp authority. Director Rajkumar Periasamy unveiled the glimpse with a special caption praising the actress, writing, “HER! The PERFORMER @Sai_Pallavi92, You will never cease to amaze!”

Sai Pallavi’s Nithya Reddy hails from Naidupet, Andhra Pradesh, and began her career as an Assistant Superintendent of Police in the AP cadre. Due to her exceptional honesty and intellect, she is inducted into the Central Bureau of Investigation as an Additional Superintendent of Police to collaborate directly with Interpol. She is the central authority spearheading “Operation OM,” an intense multi-agency tactical investigation. Making the mission deeply personal, Nithya is the daughter of a martyred Indian Forest Service officer who lost his life on duty—a detail that gives her character a profound personal stake in a film centered on the illegal smuggling of red sandalwood.
The high-octane action thriller centers around a dangerous crisis deep in the forests of Tiruvannamalai, where 20 Tamil woodcutters are detained by the police. It primarily revolves around a massive, lethal syndicate involved in the illegal smuggling of red sandalwood, referred to as Andhra Pradesh’s “red gold”. The film brings together an incredible powerhouse ensemble including Dhanush, Mammootty (playing Burma Karthikeyan “Siya”), Sai Pallavi, Sreeleela, Naseeruddin Shah, and Indrans. Written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the film marks a massive consecutive reunion for Sai Pallavi and the director immediately following their collaborative success on Amaran, and also marks her highly anticipated reunion with Dhanush after their iconic chemistry in Maari 2 (2018). The thumping, high-energy background score is composed by the rising musical sensation Sai Abhyankkar.
OM: Chapter 1 is scheduled for a grand worldwide theatrical release on November 20, 2026, in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, with its post-theatrical digital streaming rights already secured by Netflix. The film was originally slated for an October 16 release but was postponed, with Dhanush confirming the shift out of respect for Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 and Suriya’s Scene. With Sai Pallavi’s fierce new avatar as Nithya Reddy, a powerhouse ensemble, and a high-stakes investigation into one of India’s most valuable forest resources, OM – Chapter 1: Udhiram – The Blood Wood is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious and anticipated pan-Indian releases of the year.
