The second week of October 2026 brings a diverse slate of new titles across major streaming platforms, offering everything from Hollywood crime thrillers and horror reboots to Korean historical espionage and Tamil sports dramas. Whether you are in the mood for a tense kidnapping thriller, a supernatural horror series, a celebrity reality show, or a period spy romance, there is something for every viewer. Here is a look at the five most anticipated OTT releases arriving between October 5 and 11, 2026.
Netflix leads the week with three high-profile additions. On October 9, Ben Affleck stars in Animals, a crime thriller directed by Affleck himself. He plays Mark Kimball, a Los Angeles mayoral candidate whose seemingly perfect life with his wife Abigail, played by Kerry Washington, is shattered when their young son is kidnapped for ransom. The film also stars Gillian Anderson, Steven Yeun, and Ray Fisher. Also arriving on October 9 is Mandaadi, a Tamil sports action drama set in Tamil Nadu. The film centres on a high-stakes traditional South Indian sailboat-racing rivalry that reignites between Muthukaali, played by Soori, a former racer who returns from Chennai, and his rival Saattaappuli, played by Suhas. Rounding out Netflix’s offerings on October 10 is 100 Days of Deception, a South Korean historical spy romance series set in 1932 Gyeongseong during the Japanese colonial period. A pickpocket named Lee Ga-kyeong goes undercover as an interpreter inside the Japanese Government-General for a 100-day espionage mission, crossing paths with elite interpreter Kim Tae-woong.
Amazon Prime Video brings a fresh take on a horror classic with Carrie, premiering on October 7. The series follows Carrie White, played by Summer H. Howell, a sheltered and awkward teenager who has been aggressively homeschooled and kept out of society by her fanatically controlling mother, Margaret White, portrayed by Samantha Sloyan. This new adaptation promises a modern reimagining of Stephen King’s iconic story, exploring themes of isolation, repression, and supernatural vengeance. Meanwhile, JioHotstar offers lighter fare with Pati Patni Aur Panga Season 2, premiering on October 10. This celebrity couple reality game show pits pairs against each other in tests of chemistry, compatibility, and real-life understanding through fun challenges, tasks, and candid conversations about their married lives. It is a perfect weekend watch for fans of reality television and celebrity gossip.
With such a varied lineup, viewers are spoiled for choice this week. From the high-stakes drama of Animals to the supernatural chills of Carrie, the historical intrigue of 100 Days of Deception, the sporting rivalry of Mandaadi, and the lighthearted entertainment of Pati Patni Aur Panga Season 2, the streaming platforms have delivered a little something for everyone. As the festive season approaches, these new releases offer the perfect excuse to cozy up on the couch and dive into a fresh story.
