Udta Teer, the upcoming Hindi action-adventure spy comedy starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, has been officially postponed and will now release in cinemas on October 23, 2026, instead of its original October 9 date. The makers adjusted the release date to secure a cleaner theatrical window and avoid a crowded box office directly following the release of Drishyam: The Conclusion. The shift allows the film to reach a wider audience without competing against one of the year’s biggest releases, giving it a better chance to perform well in theatres.

The film is an espionage satire and spy comedy centered around mistaken identity. Ayushmann Khurrana plays Bilal Ahmed, a Pakistani intelligence operative who is sent to India on a mission. However, after surviving a massive explosion, he suffers severe amnesia. Bilal wakes up with no memory of his past and completely convinces himself that he is a hardcore patriot serving in India’s Counter-Terrorism Squad. As he begins aggressively fighting against his former Pakistani handlers, his original bosses face a nightmare scenario trying to deal with their deadliest spy turned against them. Sara Ali Khan plays Yamini, a fellow CTS officer who is completely unaware of Bilal’s true background and gets caught right in the middle of the chaotic, action-packed madness.

Directed by Akash A. Kaushik in his directorial debut, Udta Teer is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Achin Jain under Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment. The primary cast includes Ayushmann Khurrana as Bilal Ahmed, Sara Ali Khan as Yamini, Rahul Bose as Burman, Gulshan Grover as General Mir, Ram Kapoor as Niyazi, Mukul Dev as Azhar Maqsood, along with Raghubir Yadav, Suhail Nayyar, Brijendra Kala, Sandeep Anand, and Supriya Pilgaonkar. The ensemble cast promises a blend of comedy, action, and drama that is typical of Bollywood spy satires.

The film’s music is composed by Sachin–Jigar with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. A prominent track titled “Choozay” marks the Bollywood soundtrack debut of hip-hop artist Emiway Bantai, who features on the vocals alongside Jigar Saraiya. With its unique premise, talented cast, and strong production backing, Udta Teer is poised to be one of the most entertaining releases of the year. As the new release date of October 23, 2026, approaches, fans can look forward to a hilarious and action-packed ride that explores mistaken identity and the chaos that follows.
